Low-energy and high thermal insulation values are buzzwords that currently accompany manufacturers of doors made of PVC profile sections through every stage of production. Energy-optimised system profiles with multiple sealing levels make a significant contribution to ensuring that the cold stays outside and the heat stays inside. The 3-piece Hahn KT-RN is based on this advancement, which always leaves the seal unscathed without adversely affecting the desired look of a narrow butt hinge. With a hinge diameter of only 22mm, it is one of the slimmest versions available on the market.
And it still supports doors weighing up to 160 kg depending on the door frame situation. CE classification according to EN 1935 hinge class 14 is currently in preparation. The door hinge that is manufactured using extruded aluminium is provided for the most part factory-assembled. It can be used on either (left and right) side of the door without requiring any changes. With a standard version, the KT-RN accommodates all common profile variations with a right-angled upstand of 16.5 to 26.0 mm.
Areas of application
Doors made of PVC sections, suited for both residential and commercial structures
Main entrance doors
Side entrance doors
Entrance doors for flats
Constructed of extruded aluminium
Directly mounted in frame and door
Upstand height from 16.5 mm
Max. 160 kg depending on the door/frame design
Adjustable in six directions: • Horizontal adjustment, variable ± 3 mm • Height adjustment, variable ± 3 mm • Adjustment of sealing pressure ± 0.4 mm
Class 4: Very heavy usage. Hinges for doors that are subject to frequent and heavy usage.
Class 7: 200,000 test cycles (only door hinges)
weight of test door
Class 7: Weight of test door 160 kg
class 0: not suited for use on fire and smoke-retardant doors (EN 1634-1)
safty of use
The fundamental requirements on the safety of use must be fulfilled by all hinges. That's why there is only class 1 here.
Class 4: 240h salt spray test (Class 5: 480h salt spray test*)
Class 1: Suited for use on intrustion-resistant doors based on the rating of the hinges' contribution to intrusion resistance for the respective intrusion-resistant door.
Class 14: Hinges of this class fulfil demands due to very heavy usage
Classification KT-RN, 3-piece
The classification 4 7 7 0 1 4 (5*) 1 14 means: A door hinge for (4) very heavy usage, which has undergone endurance testing of (7) 200,000 cycles, for a door with dimensions of up to (7) 160 kg, not suited for (0) fire and smoke protection, possesses a (4) corrosion resistance of 240 h and can be used on (1) intrusion-resistant doors.
Suitable for use on emergency exit doors. *) Class 5 in accordance with DIN EN 1670:2007/AC:2008
